Lovetorn by Kavita Daswani is a book about a girl named Shalini and how she is adjusting to living in a new country: America. However, as she's adjusting, she becomes "lovetorn" because she has been engaged since she was three back in India, but starts having feelings for a guy she meets at school.
This book is a short and easy read. It was really interesting to read in a perspective of a new immigrant. Shalini went through some tough times when it came to choosing the right clothes to wear or making new friends. The book was written well and taught me lots of new indian words and many different customs in their culture! Make sure to check this book out!
