DIY Bookmarks!

Reusing common household items, a fun designed bookmark can be made.... YOURSELF!

Materials:

~cardboard from packaging (about 1mm thick, 80mm x 160 mm)

~ half of a good on one side, standard size sheet of paper (108mm x 139.5mm)

~ ruler

~ pencil

~ pen

~ pencil crayons

~ packaging tape (approx. 48mm wide)

~ glue stick

~ hole puncher

~ beads, embroidery thread, and/or ribbon

Step 1:

Using a ruler and pen, draw a line to split

the cardstock in half, creating two 40mm x

80mm rectangles. Separate with scissors.

Step 2:

Trace a separted rectangle twice onto a sheet of paper using a pencil, then cut them out with scissors.

Step 3:

Using the glue stick, paste the sheets of

papers onto both sides of the cardstock.

Step 4:

Start brainstorming and sketch your ideas onto the bookmark. The possibilities are endless!

After that, its time to bring on the colours!! When finished, hole punch the top-center for decorations later on.

Step 5:

Laminate your works by placing tape on both sides of the bookmark. Trim the edges, leaving an edge of approx. 1mm.

Step 6:

Hole punch the previous hole again. Tie embroidery thread and/or ribbon through the hole.

Optional: string beads onto the embroidery thread and/or ribbon.
